Salary Range:        $54,020-$85,375

Under limited supervision of the Sheriff or the Sheriff's designee, this Programs Coordinator position performs specialized law enforcement work in the care and security of inmates in the County Detention Center.  Work involves preparing various reports and logs, conducting periodic searches, maintaining security, and counseling and advising special population inmates as needed. The Programs Coordinator will provide direct supervision of specialized staff (i.e. social worker, counselors, diversion officers, reentry specialists) in the Programs Unit of the County Detention Center. This position is responsible for overseeing direct contact services and activities (e.g. psychiatric, psychological, substance misuse, recreation, education, reentry, etc.) for offenders assigned to a specialized living unit and/or specialized program unit. Closely works with Medical, Classification, Administration, Community Collaborative Groups, Volunteers, Stakeholders, and the Court System.

Bachelor's degree in a criminal justice or social services field of study, with 2 years of experience in corrections, mental health/substance use/behavioral disorders, public health, public administration, program development/implementation, and/or program management/evaluation; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
