Junior Systems Engineer
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their fulltime Junior Systems Engineer in the Office of Information Technology and Data Resources. The Junior Systems Engineer will participate in moderately complex to complex enterprise projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Documents all changes to system settings and configurations
· Basic understanding of network devices and protocols
· Assist with the implementation and operation of enterprise server hardware/software systems
· Provides technical assistance to persons designing and implementing enterprise network and information systems
· Administers storage, computing, and virtualization infrastructure
· Assists with the implementation and maintenance of cloud inventories
· Monitor deployed cloud resources for availability
· Participates in the administration of the email systems
· Helps to establish proper levels of security and access to shared network resources
· Isolates, corrects, and improves operational efficiency through changes to the software packages or reconfiguration of hardware
· Helps to maintain an accurate inventory of communications and network components
· Tests network components/applications to ensure that users can access applications on networks
· Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field *and* three (3) years of experience in complex enterprise-scale multi-user systems and network administration
Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies, Cisco Unified Computing System or comparable server-grade hardware, NetApp or other storage area network technology, Microsoft 365 and Azure, or Amazon Web Services.
