Senior Environmental Specialist or Senior Environmental Specialist II - Sustainability
Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Senior Environmental Specialist (SES) or Senior Environmental Specialist II at Dundalk Marine Terminal (2700 Broening Highway, Baltimore MD 21222) for MES, Environmental Management System & Remediation Section. The selected candidate will support the Maryland Port Administration Office of Environment, Safety, and Sustainability (OESS) and be responsible for project development and management, research and data analysis, writing project related documents, materials and reports, presentation development and delivery, providing technical support in area of sustainability, energy efficiency, alternative energy and climate change policies and initiatives, and monitoring sustainability programs’ effectiveness. Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) badge.
Estimated Pay Range:
Senior Environmental Specialist: $53,131.16 - $63,000.00
Senior Environmental Specialist II: $58,444.70 - $78,000.00

Minimum Requirements:
Senior Environmental Specialist -
Bachelors Degree in environmental science, engineering, ecology, biology, chemistry, geology or a related field from an accredited college or university plus 3 years of experience in environmental science, regulations, engineering or management. One year of experience must have included responsibility managing environmental projects and providing leadership to other professional and technical staff. An applicable advanced education degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
Senior Environmental Specialist II -
Bachelors Degree in environmental science, engineering, ecology, biology, chemistry, geology or a related field from an accredited college or university plus 4 years of experience in environmental science, regulations, engineering or management. One year of experience must have included responsibility managing environmental projects and providing leadership to other professional and technical staff. An applicable advanced education degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
Preferred skills: Include experience in developing and implementing environmental sustainability strategies and projects, technical report writing, grant application and administration experience, GIS experience and fluency in MS Office Suite.
