SWC is a state run, licensed and certified Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IDD). This position is a member of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) Quality Management Team and actively participates in DCTS QI initiatives encompassing all DHS Centers for the Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled as well as the State Mental Health Institutes and Treatment Centers. Position Summary
As the Quality Improvement Coordinator, you would be responsible for designing, managing and improving the Quality Improvement (QI) functions at SWC. This position supports key SWC functions of planning, performance management, and organizational measurement, innovation and improvement to ensure SWC achieves its mission and vision. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with administrative, systems and interdisciplinary teams to support a network of activities and projects within and across SWC.
- Coordinating and leading performance improvement activities using accepted QI methods for evaluating, managing and improving the organization. This includes developing performance measures, presenting leadership summary reports, conducting cause and effect analysis, and facilitating organizational review of projects, indicators, and outcomes.
- Supporting Continuous Service Excellence with proactive compliance, monitoring and corrective action planning with all federal CMS, Wisconsin DQA, and other regulatory agencies
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $40.00 and $44.33 per hour (approximately between $83,200 and $92,200 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Program and Policy Analyst Advanced Management and is in pay schedule and range 81/03.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all the following:
- Experience working with quality improvement/management principles and techniques.
- Experience leading a team in a quality improvement project.
- Experience with analytical reasoning (e.g., interpreting/evaluating complex information, identifying patterns, essential issues, etc.)
- Experience writing summary reports to inform organizational or programmatic decision making.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience with quality improvement/management systems such as Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc.
- Experience teaching quality improvement processes.
- Experience collecting and analyzing data (e.g. conducting trend analysis, developing reports based on collected data, evaluating results, etc.) and applying research methods/techniques (e.g. survey/questionnaire design, sampling, comparative studies, etc.) using statistical analysis software.
- Experience with ICF/IID regulatory standards and related health care laws and statutes.
