Entry Level Compliance Analyst


Job Description

Getting To Know The Opportunity:

This role is a part of our Voya Investment Management (Voya IM) Entry Level Analyst Program. This program, which will begin in July 2025, is designed to develop the careers of entry level employees and provide you with the unique opportunity to begin your career in your respective fields while gaining hands-on experience and formal development and training. As a critical element of the Voya IM Compliance Program, the role requires strong analytical skills, creative solutioning, prioritization, and an ability to drive positive change. Please Note: This position has been designated as a hybrid-office/home role. Details of your in-office schedule will be finalized with your manager.

 

The Contributions You'll Make:

Support the Head of Compliance Technology and Analytics and the broader Compliance team to develop technology solutions to address business objectives and replace/supplement manual processes where possible.

Monitor client portfolios for compliance with securities laws and client guidelines and code them into Voya’s compliance monitoring systems.

Use knowledge of regulatory requirements and firm policies and procedures to support the development of improved business processes through automated solutions.

Participate in or manage business, technology, and compliance related projects, surface issues and report to management on topics related to projects.

Develop automated workflows to reduce risk and create efficiencies in the management compliance related tasks and processes.

Develop policies and standard operating procedures with the goal of capturing institutional knowledge and reducing dependency on individuals.

Review and interpret client investment management agreements and guideline documents to determine effective monitoring processes. Implement the required controls through the coding of compliance rules in Voya’s compliance monitoring systems.

Testing and auditing of compliance rules and creation of new processes utilizing technology to improve efficiencies. Identifying and remediating coding issues.

Serve as an intermediary between Compliance / IT / Voya IM business units to manage communications regarding compliance rule coding and other technical processes and efficiencies.

Monitor and review compliance rule functionality and efficiency of operations.

Support the integration of analytics into aspects of the compliance program.

Assist in developing and promoting a compliance function that effectively manages and mitigates risk, establishes proper controls, and protects the firm from legal and regulatory risk.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

Applicant should be graduating with an undergraduate degree (quantitative/computer science field preferred) in the December 2024/Spring 2025.

Strong academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred).

Strong analytical abilities to assess technical constructs and issues.

Confident personality with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Creative and a forward thinker possessing a willingness to generate, share, and implement ideas.

Broad, long-range approach to understanding emerging trends to strategize effectively.

Flexible, consultative, collaborative working style with the ability to motivate change.

Ability to handle high volumes of work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and minimizing risk.

Working knowledge of trading and compliance systems (e.g., APL, BlackRock, Bloomberg, etc.) a plus.

Creative and a forward thinker possessing a willingness to generate, share and implement ideas.

Strong Excel and technology skills. The following skills are preferred:

Programming and database skills.

Experience in Business Intelligence/Reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, WebFocus, Tableau etc.).

Working knowledge or proficiency in SQL Databases to code business rules in data extraction scripts, stored procedures, ETL tools.

Translate business requirements to functional and technical documents to able to interact with IT development teams to build compliance system solutions.

Exposure to Data Extraction tools (SSIS, Informatica etc.) or Microsoft Power automation tool kit to bring in various data sources for analysis.
