Manufacturing Engineer Internship 2025

Company Overview

At Motorola Solutions, we're guided by a shared purpose - helping people be their best in the moments that matter - and we live up to our purpose every day by solving for safer. Because people can only be their best when they not only feel safe, but are safe. We're solving for safer by building the best possible technologies across every part of our safety and security ecosystem. That's mission-critical communications devices and networks, AI-powered video security & access control and the ability to unite voice, video and data in a single command center view. We're solving for safer by connecting public safety agencies and enterprises, enabling the collaboration that's critical to connect those in need with those who can help. The work we do here matters.

Department Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering team is responsible for supporting ongoing operations in the Elgin, IL facility. The team has ownership for all internal manufacturing processes and manufacturing quality.

The summer intern will be assigned an engineering mentor and will help to directly support ongoing manufacturing activities from a process and quality perspective.  The intern will be learning to put their engineering problem solving skills into practice by helping to identify issues that impact efficiency, cycle time, safety or quality and then develop creative solutions and actually see them implemented.

The intern will at times work directly in the production environment and also work behind the scenes analyzing manufacturing data for trends.  The intern may work on identifying automated IT solutions, automation, time studies, physical factory layouts, optimal workbench layout, or improving the assembly process as a few examples of typical assignments.
