Digital Strategy Intern

JOBTITLE: Digital StrategyIntern COMPENSATION: $20/HR

LOCATION: Washington, DC (Headquarters) or All USA

DURATION OF INTERNSHIP: September 2024 – January2025; start and end dates are flexible

PURPOSE: This internship provides an opportunity to support the Digital Department and contribute to innovative digitalcampaigns. The intern will assist in creatingdigital content, supporting social media efforts, and helping to build SEIU’s national digital presence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Any one position may not include all of the specific duties and responsibilities listed. The intern will be responsible for assisting in a variety of digital communication tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting DigitalCampaigns: Assist in staffing worker organizing campaignsby helping to create and manage digital content.
  • Content Development: Help with planning,developing, and organizing content for digital properties, emphasizing growth and engagement.
  • Social Media Coordination: Collaborate with the communications team to develop engaging social media content and manage weekly reporting.
  • Data Analysis:Assist in analyzingdata to optimize social media and other digital efforts. Organize results and findings into presentations.
  • Creative Collaboration: Work in coordination with other staff to help plan and produce content for SEIU’s social media channels.
  • Research and Innovation: Exploreand research new social media channels and tools to support SEIU’s digital communication strategies.
  • General Support:Perform other dutiesas needed to assist the digital communications team in achieving its goals.


 

DIRECTION & DECISIONMAKING: This positionreports to the Senior Digital ProgramManager and works under close supervision and guidance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: All applicants must have graduated from high school or an equivalency programand be currently enrolled in or recentlygraduated from an academic program; a focus on communications, marketing, political science,labor studies, or similar program is a plus.

  • Interest in digitalmedia, social media management, or communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with socialmedia platforms and content creation.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS: This is a full-timeinternship position. The Digital Strategyintern will work remotely and be paid an hourly rate of $20.00. Full-time interns will work a maximum of 35 hours per week.
