Pathways Student Intern Program

The Pathways Student Intern Program is a paid internship program with IRS Criminal Investigation (CI). The program is intended for college students who are on track to graduate in Spring 2026. Upon successful completion of the program, participants may be considered for conversion to a Special Agent position with CI. Appointment is NOT guaranteed. 

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong interest in learning about CI and our mission, as well as a passion for tax and accounting. Participants should thrive in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment and possesses the ability to prepare detailed reports. Strong communication skills are essential, as candidates will be responsible for clearly explaining complex information to front-line supervisors and external stakeholders. 

This is a federal law enforcement position. Interested candidates must be willing to carry and utilize a firearm when required AFTER appointment AND graduation from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
