Electronics Technician (Commercial/Industrial Controls)

About the Opportunity

The Facilities Management Critical Operation Team has an immediate opening for an Electronics Technician-Intermediate Position, working directly with the Senior Electronics Technician, and reporting to the Facilities Plant Operations Senior Manager.

In this role you will be responsible for installation and upkeep of various specialized electronic systems including testing, repairs, and modifications, if necessary. You will be knowledgeable about installs and wiring, troubleshooting as needed. You will also program industrial and other controls in various systems to include but not limited to access control, lighting control, building automation, and security systems.

 

What You Will Do:

Integrate with the Critical Ops teams to maintain site PLC and HMI controls, specifications.

Perform minor design, troubleshooting and installations on new and existing equipment and systems.

Keep an inventory of, and maintain, attic stock of critically important equipment, PLCs, HMIs, relays, contactors, control devices, sensors, etc.

Provide subject matter expert level reviews as necessary for Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond operation and branches when necessary.

Must be a team player and who is able to collaborate with other crafts, trades, and department personnel as necessary in performance of the work.

 

Qualifications:

3 years minimum working experience in heavy commercial/industrial control.

Relevant Education and or certifications a plus.

A thorough understanding of relay logic.

A fundamental understanding of Electronics.

PLC and HMI/OIT programming knowledge a plus.

Must have strong troubleshooting skills in both Electrical and Electronics.

Experience with Allen-Bradley Micrologix and Micro800 platforms and software preferred.

Journeyman Wireman license a plus.

Fundamental understanding of the NEC and NFPA-70.

Must be able to attend/take and show proficiency on all safety and equipment training as specified.

CAD operator a plus.

Must be computer literate. Microsoft Office experience is a plus.

The ability to climb a ladder up to 25 feet and work off of a lift up to 25 feet, is required.

Must be able to stand for several hours at a time, with the ability lift up to 50 pounds.

This position is required to be onsite on Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day at a minimum each week. Additional situational coverage may be expected for on-demand or emergency repairs or part of Weather-related responses.

The hiring range for this position is $75,800 – $104,170 annually.

Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
