Driver - Warehousing

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT: POSITION OPENING   

Driver   

 

IN THIS ROLE:   You will make daily deliveries and pick-ups at Oakland County locations, process incoming and outgoing US mail as well as UPS, FedEx, and Airborne packages. Receive and unload incoming supplies, equipment, Oakland Schools’ furniture and other items; verify receipt of items ordered (i.e., quantity, stock number, etc.) and notify supervisor of damaged, defective, and/or incorrect shipments. Follow specified instructions, procedures, and standards for the efficient and safe operation of the truck and pickup/delivery of office equipment and furniture. Locate and relocate desks, chairs, tables, bookcases, and other related office furniture and equipment as needed.

 

WHAT WE NEED:   Someone who can safely drive and operate a delivery vehicle, navigate a variety of routes throughout delivery area; is a self-starter, able to multi-task, can demonstrate great customer service and professionalism as well as the ability to problem-solve.  Has experience with an electric and manual pallet jack and able to work with minimal supervision.   You must be comfortable driving and working in varying weather and able to work in a warehouse lifting up to 75 lbs.   

 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of related experience
  • Valid Michigan chauffer’s license – or willing to obtain before start of employment   

 

SALARY DETAILS:   $18.09 - $20.98 per hour based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential of earning up to $22.58 hourly after employment with Oakland Schools. Non-Exempt Position / 12-month work year
