Circuit Court Second Judicial Assistant

CIRCUIT COURT 2ND JUDICIAL ASSISTANT - This position is selected by and reports directly to and acts under the exclusive supervision and oversight of the Circuit Court Judge with administrative oversight and support from the Circuit/Family/Probate Court Administrator and the Circuit Court Judicial Assistant who may assign or delegate duties to this position with judicial approval. This position is responsible for providing administrative support according to State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) standards and internal policies/directives. Serves at the pleasure of the Circuit Court Judge. Exercises exemplary professionalism, discretion, judgment, communication, and time management skills to support the Judge’s work including serving as a point of contact for the Judge’s office. Handles and appropriately safeguards confidential and sensitive institutional, personnel, financial, legal, and case-related information abiding at all times by the Model Rules of Conduct for Court Employees. Effectively collaborates internally and externally engaging with a diverse range of individuals including the general public, colleagues, Court Leadership Team members, County Administration, Attorneys, and other leaders and community partners. Performs certified Court Recording, is certified to prepare transcripts, enters data into JIS/TCS/AS400 for case management, acts as back up ADR clerk, and provides support for the Judge’s administrative duties related to Court grants, County initiatives, community groups, judicial associations, state bar committees, and related matters. Performs other administrative and secretarial duties as directed by the Judge, Court Administrator, and Circuit Court Judicial Assistant. Assists other Court employees or County partners as directed. Able and willing to be flexible and adaptable in the performance of job duties as standards, law, technology, and mandates change over time.
