Mobile Services Unit Coordinator

Mobile Services Unit Coordinator Position Overview: 

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is looking for an experienced program or project manager looking to make a difference in public service as our Mobile Services Unit Coordinator to lead and manage the launch of our new Mobile Services Unit. In this role, you will develop a statewide strategy to deliver services to hard-to-reach and underserved areas, engage in community outreach, and devise innovative solutions for serving people with disabilities. You will collaborate closely with OOD staff across the state, including Vocational Rehabilitation professionals, the OOD Communications team, and the mobile unit's drivers.

Most positions offer the flexibility of a hybrid schedule that combines working from home with regular in-office and/ or community presence.  In-person work requirements may change for training, meetings, and other operational needs.  Employees must reside at a location that allows for reasonable response time to workplace reporting requirements. 

Significant in-state travel during work hours required. The selected candidate must provide own transportation or, in order to operate a state vehicle, must have a valid driver's license.

Mobile Services Unit Coordinator Duties:

  • Develops service and outreach priorities for the use of the mobile service unit
  • Uses data and input from internal and external partners to identify local events and service needs
  • Collaborates with service providers and other mobile units to host events that provide multiple services and supports to the disability community
  • Coordinates with other OOD departments to prepare mobile services unit for events
  • Collects and analyzes data related to the services provided on the mobile services unit
  • Develops and maintains tools and communications used by internal and external partners for the use of the mobile services unit
  • Prepares regular reports

A Successful Mobile Services Unit Coordinator Has:

  • Project or event management experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
  • Flexibility to travel to events around the state

Qualifications

Completion of undergraduate core program in human service area, business or public administration or related field AND 12 months training or experience in supervisory, administrative, or related position. 

-Or completion of graduate core program in human service area, business or public administration, or related field.

-Or equivalent of education and/or experience per Minimum Class Qualifications noted above
