The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Quality has an opening for one Engineering Geologist in the Groundwater Monitoring Section – Oil and Gas Monitoring Unit 2. The position is located at 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, which is two blocks from light rail and public transportation and a short distance from the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmers’ markets, and the Golden 1 Arena. We offer an onsite café, workout room, and day care services.

Duties:

Under the close supervision of a Senior Engineering Geologist and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
