This position serves as an End User Computing Analyst performing complex professional and advisory functions in End User Computing (EUC) for assigned agencies. 

In this role you will coordinate and conduct complex software distribution application development for Microsoft networks at onsite user provided facilities using automated software deployment tools such as System Center Configurations Manager (SCCM) or Microsoft Windows/Microsoft installer scripts (MSI), Lite-Touch, and computer programming and/or scripting. 

In addition, you will serve as a project coordinator for full-range major/complex projects, very large end user hardware/software/application deployments and installations across multiple agencies and locations.

Essential Functions

30% Under administrative direction serves as an End User Computing Analyst for the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT):

  • Performs complex professional and advisory functions in End User Computing (EUC) for assigned agencies.
  • Coordinates and conducts complex software distribution application development for Microsoft networks at onsite user provided facilities using automated software deployment tools such as System Center Configurations Manager (SCCM) or Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Installer scripts (MSI), Lite-Touch, and computer programming and/or scripting.
  • Performs testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of software distribution scripts, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinates consolidation and conversion of agency owned hardware and software

20% Performs configuration, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of desktop/laptop Microsoft Operating Systems and MAC Operating Systems, Microsoft Office client software products and various software and supported applications:

  • Compares configurations to ensure compliance with Agency security considerations, performance requirements, and established standard documentation.
  • Develops processes of duplicating new Operating Systems installations by developing scripting or imaging methods and procedures for efficient on-site installations of large quantities of desktops/laptops.
  • Performs on-site installations of computers and peripherals including lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading of computers/equipment.
  • Provides support for complex desktop functions including configuration, installation, and support of network printing equipment, Active Directory, Doman Name System, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, File Transfer Protocol and Antivirus.

20% Provides end user support for all desktop related issues by resolving user questions/problems including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, McAfee Anti-virus software, Corel WordPerfect, Microsoft Outlook, and any other supported products and adapts complex processing to different system/program requirements:

  • Assists Customer Service Center (CSC) with high level resolution by resolving user questions/problems regarding these network applications.
  • Assists with assignments into other functional areas including but not limited to network and server hardware, software, and peripherals

10% Serves as a project coordinator for full-range major/complex projects, very large end user hardware/software/application deployments and installations across multiple agencies and locations:

  • Determines and coordinates project components such as project scheduling and assignments.
  • Assigns and reviews the work of project analyst staff.
  • Provides expertise, guidance, and direction to staff.
  • Reviews results and incorporates individual components of project into final products

10% Analyzes and evaluates new technology to anticipate the probable impact on future plans and current information systems:

  • Makes recommendations regarding purchases or future direction strategies to agency management regarding network operating systems, PC operating systems, security systems, and integration with network telecommunications infrastructure

5% Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field:

  • Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations

5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

1.    Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
2.    Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Client Services or a related Information Technology field.
 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Three (3) years of professional experience in Microsoft Windows and Mac Operating Systems configuration, Microsoft Office client software products, Active Directory, Doman Name System, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, File Transfer Protocol, and Antivirus
  2. Three (3) years of professional experience in automated software deployment tools such as Microsoft Windows/MSI scripts, Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Lite-Touch and computer programming and/or scripting
  3. Three (3) years of professional experience in automated equipment, scheduling, coordinating, and supporting end user hardware, software, and application systems.
  4. Three (3) years of professional experience in desktop and laptop hardware configurations and hardware/software troubleshooting tools and procedures.
  5. Three (3) years of professional experience in constructing and maintaining a network and devices within a business infrastructure environment.
  6. Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgement in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
  7. Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
  8. Ability to coordinate a multi-level team to achieve desired results for complex projects.
  9. Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.

10.    Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. This is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
