Remote/Telework up to 40% allowed after the first three months of employment, increasing up to 60% after six months, based on performance and workload needs. On in-office days, you will report to 2135 Rimrock Road, Madison, WI. 

The positions will assist in the requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and project management duties needed to update the applicable systems. The positions will also assist with the review of current and proposed changes to procedures and policies, updating training documentation for business users on system changes, serve as a liaison for other interrelated systems, and providing information technology and technical support for SLF.

The register created from this recruitment may also be used to fill future permanent or project positions in the next six months within DOR.  We are currently filling two positions, one permanent position, as well as one project-permanent position.  The project-permanent is a project position that is filled with a permanent appointment.  Currently, the project is authorized through June 30, 2025.  After that date, the hire’s duties may change.  

 

Position Summary

The Property Assessment Systems Analyst positions will be filled at one of the following levels depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

In the business analyst role, your work supporting the business analysis and automation of the department’s property assessment and taxations systems, will have a significant statewide impact and cross organization lines, affecting all property assessment tax areas. Stakeholders include department employees, local government officials, software vendors, tax professionals and taxpayers.  The positions will be involved with the design, development, monitoring, testing and coordination of, and project management duties with these systems.  They will provide information technology and technical support for various areas across the division.  They will coordinate the review of current and proposed changes to procedures, policies, and forms publications for the effect of those changes, and serves as liaison with other interrelated systems.

 

Salary Information

Salary for the IS Business Automation Analyst (Entry Level) (schedule-range 07-35) is $29.00 to $33.00 hourly; and the IS Business Automation Senior (Senior Level) (07-34) is $33.00 to $36.40 hourly, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Current state employees pay will be based on the provisions in the Compensation Plan. You must complete a twelve-month probationary period.

 

Job Details

The department will conduct a background check, fingerprint check and tax compliance check on all finalists. Interview results may be reused in accordance with the State of WI interview reuse policy.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. The Department of Revenue does not sponsor work or student visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.  DOR participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with Form I-9 information for all new employees to confirm authorization to work in the U.S.

 

Qualifications

Whether an applicant is hired as an IS Business Automation Analyst (Entry Level) or IS Business Automation Senior (Senior Level) level will be determined by the entire selection process, including the qualifications of the selected applicant, interviews, etc.  Be sure to clearly address each of the qualifications below in your letter of qualifications and resume.

Minimum-qualified candidates will have training or experience in each of the following:

  1. Compiling business user/system requirements
  2. Supporting the maintenance and update of complex data management systems
  3. Project management
  4. Conducting and coordinating user acceptance testing

Well-qualified candidates will have experience in one (1) or more of the following (in addition to the minimum qualifications). 

  1. Training development and delivery methods
  2. Process improvement
  3. Property assessment and taxation methods and systems
