VISTA Resource Development Specialist

The Resource Development Specialist VISTA project will increase and strengthen resources available to homeless families with children in Latah County. Family Promise of the Palouse programs and operations are funded entirely through contributions, sponsorships, and grant funds. We currently run one fundraising event each year and apply for a minimum of five (5) grants per year. The Resource Development Specialist will develop a calendar, organization narrative, and research grant opportunities to increase grant application to a minimum of 12 per year. They will also create a plan and calendar of fundraising opportunities and events; with staff assistance, planning and executing an additional fundraising event. By increasing the resources available to Family Promise of the Palouse, we will be able to increase the number of families and individuals served in our programs. 

VISTA Member activities:

Research and launch a comprehensive financial grant program for FPP.   

  1.  Research Grant Opportunities
  2.  Recommend grant opportunities for Family Promise of the Palouse
  3. Create calendar of opportunities on agency calendar with reminders
  4. Participate in completion of grant applications

Research and launch a comprehensive fundraising program for FPP, incorporating current events and creating a least one new prospect,

  1. Develop Fundraising Calendar
  2. Develop fundraising plan and goals
  3. Brainstorm new fundraising and “friend”raising activity ideas
  4. Plan fundamental elements of events
  5. Create marketing materials for events

Enhance VISTA project stability and sustainability by developing procedures, lists and manuals for future Resource Development Specialist.

  1.  Create sustainability manual

Requirements:

  • Be 18 years or older (no upper age limit)
  • Hold one of the following citizenship or legal residency statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card status), and persons legally residing within a state. Examples of persons legally residing within a state may include those holding the following classifications: refugee, asylee, temporary protected status throughout VISTA service, and holding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
