Clinical Assistant Program, Nurse Externship | Information Session
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is excited to kick off recruitment for the 2025 Clinical Assistant Program! The Clinical Assistant Program (CAP) is a 10-week paid externship experience for nursing students who will be entering their senior year in the Fall of 2025. CAP participants will work alongside Magnet designated nursing staff to gain more exposure to the oncology field while learning the core skills of a Clinical Nurse. At the end of the program, participants will have the opportunity to apply for a full-time MSK nursing role that starts pending graduation and certification.
Our exciting 10-week program begins across our facilities on May 27, 2025, and offers:
- Oncology program with both clinical and classroom experiences
- Assignments across the institution including Med/Surg Inpatient, Critical Care, Pediatrics, Ambulatory Care, Perioperative and Operating Room
- Close collaboration with our Magnet recognized nursing team
- Additional clinical observation days
- Professional development and networking
- Opportunity for per diem and/or full-time employment following program completion and graduation
To be considered for this program, you must:
- Current enrollment in an accredited BS, BA, or Associate’s Nursing Program
- Completion of two (2) clinical semesters, including one semester in Med/Surg Nursing
- Active BCLS Certification
