Teacher Elementary English Language Learner (ELL)

This position will travel between schools

JOB GOAL: 
To provide instruction and support for students who are identified as English Language Learners in a variety of settings including co-teaching, small group instruction, and consultation with classroom teachers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid State of Arizona Teaching Certification, including an ESL, BIL, or SEI Endorsement
  • Meets all certification requirements for the grade level or subject area including proper teaching area endorsements.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  191 Days 10 Months 
COMPENSATION:  $53,500 - $80,000
BENEFITS:  As per District policy
REPORTS TO:  Coordinator of State and Federal Programs
HOURS:  40 hours per week and may require longer hours - Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
CLASSIFICATION:  Exempt

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  1. Develop, implement, and monitor instruction to meet the needs of ELL students at multiple school sites.
  2. Collaborate with the ELL team on programming, data analysis, and instructional planning.
  3. Act as a resource for colleagues by modeling instructional strategies, identifying and developing instructional resources, and providing professional development related to the needs of ELL students.
  4. Respond to inquiries from students, staff, parents, district personnel and general public to provide information or direction regarding the ELL program.
  5. Administer the AZELLA assessments and monitor progress.
  6. Maintain ELL files and follow-up with general and confidential documentation.
  7. Maintain calendars (dates, events, activities, etc. from schools and community).
  8. Operate standard office equipment.
  9. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

The employee is frequently required to move about the campuses. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
