Cultural Resources Technician - Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA

One Cultural Resources Technician (Seasonal Worker, Full-time, 40 hours/week) position is available with the Colorado State University (CSU) Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will provide entry-level training and experience on a range of cultural resources projects supporting the Cultural Resources Management (CRM) program at Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Virginia. Potential work activities may include but are not limited to the tasks below: 

  • Monitor archaeological sites for damage or other impacts
  • Conduct fieldwork for ongoing archaeological survey 
  • Organize census data when necessary
  • Conduct laboratory work when necessary

Candidates must:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, history, historic preservation, cultural resource management, or a related field (candidates currently in junior or senior years of a bachelor’s degree in one of the above programs will be considered
  • Have completed an archaeological field school
  • Possess knowledge of Virgina archaeology
  • Be familiar with archaeology terminology
  • Be comfortable working in harsh field conditions, including heat, marshes, and briars

Must be able to relocate for the duration and provide vehicle to commute to the installation. ECDP is unable to provide relocation or housing costs at this time. Preference will be given to those already living in the state.
