What We Need You To Do:

Ohio EPA wants you to be our newest environmental specialist in the Division of Materials and Waste Management (DMWM) at our Southeast District Office in Logan, Ohio.

As an environmental specialist you’ll work to ensure waste management facilities, such as solid waste, construction and demolition debris, and infectious waste landfills are operating in compliance with applicable state laws, regulations, and approved permits. You’ll accomplish this by reviewing and evaluating Permit-to-Install applications, detail and closure plans of regulated facilities, as well as conducting inspections and investigating complaints.

You’ll evaluate health districts authorized to administer and enforce Ohio’s waste management programs to determine compliance with state standards and assist district representatives in conducting waste monitoring programs. You’ll provide technical assistance to boards of health, local and municipal officials, county commissioners, and industry professionals regarding solid waste, construction and demolition debris, and infectious waste siting proposals.
