General Definition

The City seeks candidates with two years of experience and formal training in photography or an associate degree in photography to join the Philadelphia Police Department. The role involves shooting and printing images of prisoners, injured parties, and other evidence. Position Details

Duties:

  • Technical photographic work at full performance level.
  • Use Photoshop or similar software to enhance photographs.
  • Shoot, develop, and print photographs of prisoners, injured officers, civilians, and other evidence.
  • Work involves contact with prisoners and rotating shifts.
  • Supervised by a technical superior.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Completion of twelfth grade and a minimum of six (6) credits in photography.
  • Experience: Two years of photography experience, including photo editing with digital software.
  • Licenses: Valid motor vehicle operator’s license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Documentation Requirements:

  • Official college transcripts (can be submitted via email, mail, or fax).

Equivalency Statement: Equivalent combinations of training and experience are acceptable.
