Volunteer Services Assistant Coordinator/ Sustainability Project Lead

Job Responsibilities: We are looking for an adaptable and positive candidate who will provide superior customer service to patrons and volunteers and will perform tasks to support the Kent County Parks Volunteer Services Program at multiple County Park sites. The candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule. Weekly schedule is varied and includes some Saturdays (especially in Spring and Fall) with a maximum of 1400 hours per year. Duties include planning and supervising volunteer projects; hosting a Kent County Parks information table at various events; working with the Volunteer Services database program; planning and hosting nature programs; supporting environmental events and other duties as assigned.

The candidate will also be responsible for assisting with the Volunteer Services invasive species control program. Duties include invasive species identification and mapping; planning, scheduling, and hosting invasive species projects and workshops; following state guidelines for invasive species treatment methods, record keeping and supplies maintenance; and providing outreach programs for volunteers and the public. Some knowledge of invasive species required. Experience in invasive species treatment methods preferred. 

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent combined with 2 years relevant experience. Must possess valid driver's license and have knowledge of invasive species. Commercial Pesticide Applicator's license is required (or must be obtained within 60 days of hire). Study time and guides provided.

Salary: $20.25 Hourly
