Job Summary:

 

This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Program Representative 1 position for the College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University (OSU). This position is located in Portland, Oregon.

This is a limited duration appointment expected to last until approximately September 30, 2025.

 

The primary mission of the College of Pharmacy is to advance societal health through leadership in pharmacy education, research, community engagement, and improved patient care.

 

This position will primarily support a CDC-funded research study on respiratory tract infections among nursing home residents.

 

This position will primarily entail collection of research data from electronic health records, collection of nasal swab specimens from nursing home residents, and shipment of nasal specimens to a central laboratory for analysis.

 

Driving is required to travel to/from study sites. Mileage will be reimbursed.

Key Responsibilities

 

50% – Collection of nasal swabs, on-site antigen testing of nasal swabs for respiratory infection, and shipment of specimens to central laboratory for analysis. Address any concerns during the swab collection process with sensitivity and respect.

 

25% – Collection of electronic health record data and entry into study databases

 

15% – Consent/assent and enrollment of nursing home residents for participation in research, providing clear, culturally sensitive information during the consent process.

 

5% – Administering surveys and data collection forms to nursing home staff

 

5% – Attendance at weekly research team meetings

 

What You Will Need

 

• Ability to holistically consider equity, inclusion, and social justice throughout the research data collection process.

 

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

 

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

 

What We Would Like You to Have


 

• Bachelor’s Degree in the biological or applied sciences or related field.

• Previous experience in collection of research data from electronic health records.

• Previous experience in the collection of nasal specimens.

• Previous experience working in the nursing home setting.

 

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

 

Work will be primarily on-site at participating nursing homes in the Portland Metro areaor on-campus in Portland in the College of Pharmacy’s space in the RLSB on the OHSU campus. Potential for hybrid remote/in-person work schedule.
