AmeriCorps Volunteer Management and Cultural Orientation Specialist

ECDC Multicultural Community Center is searching for two motivated individuals to join their team as AmeriCorps members.  See below for the two position descriptions. 

 

ECDC-AmeriCorps Volunteer Management Specialist: This full-time role will focus on building up and developing the volunteer program as we are switching from a co-sponsorship model to more of a support team/collaborative model. It will include significant research, meeting with various volunteers/stakeholders/collaborators/law enforcement/local government agencies, organizing spreadsheets and developing, creating and documenting new process/procedures and working closely with agency staff and the other full-time AmeriCorps member. This individual may also be asked to present or table at local organizations, help with cultural event planning and design resource guides and/or other educational/informational aides to support the general public in understanding the resettlement process, as well as support newly resettling refugees by more quickly integrating them into their new community.

 

ECDC-AmeriCorps Cultural Orientation Specialist: This full-time role will focus on building up the cultural orientation program (6-10 hours of required learning for new refugees when they arrive) and work closely in conjunction with the second full-time AmeriCorps staff developing the volunteer program, as we are switching from a co-sponsorship model to more of a support team/collaborative model. It will include significant research, meeting with various volunteers/stakeholders/collaborators/law enforcement/local government agencies, organizing spreadsheets and developing, creating and documenting new process/procedures and working closely with agency staff and the other full-time AmeriCorps member. This individual may also be asked to present or table at local organizations, help with cultural event planning and design resource guides and/or other educational/informational aides to support the general public in understanding the resettlement process, as well as support newly resettling refugees by more quickly integrating them into their new community.
