Budget COE Departmental Analyst

About this position:   

Statewide Integrated Governmental Management Applications (SIGMA) is housed within State Budget Office and is the backbone for the State of Michigan government operations, supporting budget, financial management, procurement, timekeeping and labor cost allocation, inventory management, and grant/project accounting.

The role of SIGMA support staff is to support the daily operations of the system, working towards continuous improvement of SIGMA’s functionality, providing training and help desk resources to users.

As a Budget COE Departmental Analyst, you will: 

  • Participate in sessions with stakeholders and end users to assist in identifying improvement opportunities that could be achieved with the SIGMA 4 configuration.
  • Assist in writing test scripts, reviewing Test Savvy script results and participate in sprints for the business processes and related regression testing during the SIGMA Agile Operations.
  • Support SIGMA standardization for agency and central reference data format, forms, reports, and processes.
  • Review Production Work Requests to improve the system functionality through configuration changes or enhancements to the system. Research alternative options and provide recommendations for approval

Education 

Applicants that will earn a bachelor’s degree at the end of the current semester/school year may be considered with unofficial transcripts. Please note, the final offer of employment is made once official transcripts are received and approved.   

 

Applicants who possess a degree from a foreign college or university must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents unless the degree has been recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Go to evaluators for a list of accepted organizations that evaluate foreign credentials. Failure to provide this evaluation at the time of application may result in you being screened out of the process.
