Behavioral Psychology PAID 2024 Fall Semester Internship

  • 10 Hours Per Week (Additional Hours Available if desired)
  • Behavior Change Project with Dr. Sheila Morgan, OSU
  • $15 Per Hour
  • Location: North of Columbus, Dublin, Ohio

Position Overview

Ability Matters is seeking dedicated and compassionate Internship Candidates to join our team and make a profound impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities. As an Intern with Ability Matters, you will be a member of a team that provides personalized support and assistance to individuals, helping them achieve their goals, enhance their independence, and lead fulfilling lives. We have several shifts available to fulfill the 10 Hour Work Week and will discuss further upon acceptance of your application.

What You Will Experience

  • Individualized Care with Inclusion: Provide individualized care that upholds the unique needs and aspirations of individuals with disabilities. Promote inclusion within the community, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment.
  • Empowerment Through Skill Development: Collaborate with individuals to develop life skills, communication abilities, and self-confidence, enabling them to take control of their personal journeys.
  • Behavioral Support with Dignity: Implement positive behavior support strategies that respect individuals' dignity. Handle challenging situations with empathy and de-escalation techniques.
  • Advocacy and Self-Determination: Champion individuals' rights and self-determination. Assist them in making informed decisions about their lives and choices.
  • Social Media Development:  Opportunity to assist with the development of Social Media marketing strategies.
  • Time Commitment: You will spend 10 hours a week fulfilling your internship responsibilities. Additional hours are available if desired.

Experience, Education and Certifications

  • 2+ years college experience.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
  • Pass a Background check and drug test. (paid by Ability Matters)
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid (paid by Ability Matters)
