We're an early-stage, preclinical biotechnology company in NYC. We're backed by private and philanthropic foundation funding with a mission to develop a cutting-edge nucleic acid-based platform technology for next-generation treatments for chronic diseases and prevention of infectious diseases. 
 

Who you are:

We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated PhD-level scientist to join their growing biotechnology company and make significant contributions to their antibody and therapeutic protein programs, as well as our medical device development.  The candidate is expected to independently design, execute, and analyze studies to advance the development of our DNA-based delivery technology and present results at internal and external meetings. The successful candidate must function as an integral member of the team and needs to be detail-oriented, highly organized, capable of independently and efficiently prioritizing multiple projects, flexible in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, capable of adopting new technologies, and have great time management skills. Critical thinking and staying proactive are essential to succeed in this position. 

Position title and salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and your skills.  Salary range $90,000 - $120,000 per year. 
 

What will help you succeed:

Required

  • PhD in cell or molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on drug development experience in industry or 3 years of postdoctoral experience in an academic lab
  • Hands-on experience with mouse models
  • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques (PCR/qPCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA probes design, etc)
  • Knowledge of monoclonal antibody engineering, expression, and purification
  • Excellent computer skills, including good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment

Preferred

  • Knowledge of virology
  • Experience with standard biochemistry techniques (protein tagging & purification, protein gels & western blotting)
  • Experience with histology (immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence)
  • Experience with ELISA assay design and optimization
  • Experience with non-rodent species and skeletal muscle cell biology
  • Experience with medical device development
  • Proficiency with GraphPad Prism
