Job Summary:  

Mission Veterinary Partners has an educational opportunity for an Events Intern to join our team! MVP owns over 300 animal hospitals throughout the country and coordinates over 200 local and regional events each year. This fast-paced role supports MVP events. Our events include topics such as training, leadership development, company meetings, networking, team building, recruiting, campus outreach, and many others. MVP also attends tradeshows throughout the year, ranging from hundreds to thousands of attendees.  

 

This role will be based at the MVP home office in Southfield, Michigan, and report to the Corporate Events Coordinator.  

 

Travel required: Intermittent, 5%  

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:  

 

  • Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP. 
  • Support internal and external events of varying sizes – local, regional, campus recruitment, and tradeshows. 
  • Support coordination with vendors. 
  • Support and follow the run of the show. 
  • Support guest speakers and other event presenters. 
  • Support coordination with venue including - shipping, material handling, furnishings/layout, electrical, AV, set up/tear down, vendors, and catering. 
  • Volunteer management. 
  • Support point of contact on site at the event. 
  • Work with brand marketing to develop event promotion and collateral. 
  • Support attendees. 
  • Registration 
  • Communications 
  • Travel 
  • Support Tradeshow presence: 
  • Pre-event orders and registration 
  • Exhibit collateral and inventory, coordinate coordination of the exhibit property including maintenance of the trade show exhibit. 
  • Work with appropriate internal departments to ensure timely distribution of event leads. 
  • Support Event Oversight 
  • Follow department guidelines to appropriately track event activity. 
  • Assist with MVP Home Office event and meeting space bookings, inventory, organization, and reception. 
  • Work within the events team to exemplify the core value of continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and cost saving opportunities.

  • Customer service mindset 
  • Willingness to travel and work outside regular working hours, including early morning, evenings, and weekends to support onsite event execution. * 
  • *Note – there is ability to flex time to support a healthy work-life balance 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 

 

  • Actively pursuing a degree in event management, communications, or marketing.  

 

Physical Requirements: 

 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
