This position will be for the Child & Adolescent Health Center housed at Loy Norrix High School. This position is pending board approval. 

GENERAL SUMMARY

This job aims to administer various essential health services to the public, such as immunizations, disease intervention, and STD testing and treatment. Works alongside a Mid-Level provider to care for patients in the Family Planning Clinic or School-Based Health Center. Educates the general public on various health topics, including vaccinations and communicable diseases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Nurses or Mid-Level Providers with patient care, including following nursing directives.
  • Collects specimens, performs routine tests and procedures, collects vital signs, monitors blood glucose, tests urine, and performs injections, venipunctures, or treatments.
  • Records test results; completes and validates forms. 
  • Operates equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
  • Identifies problem areas that may interrupt continuous delivery of services; reports issues to the Nurse or Mid-Level Provider.
  • Administers injections; distributes medication as assigned.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment and orders medicine, medical supplies, and materials for the program.
  • Provides clerical support, including performing data entry, answering phones, completing insurance forms and reports, and greeting patients.
  • Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • 6 months + training beyond High School
  • 1 to 3 years of related work experience 
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities

Required Licenses or Certifications

  • AAMA certification or equivalent required within six months of hire
