Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) Equipment Operator - Fort Stewart, GA

CEMML is a research, education, and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML at Colorado State University has an open Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) Equipment Operator position located at Fort Stewart, GA. This position will operate and perform heavy equipment, light equipment, and onsite labor in execution of Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) projects for the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program as part of the Sustainable Range Program at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Specific areas of responsibility are listed below in the Essential Job Duties section.

 

Required Qualifications:           

  • 1 year of professional experience or equivalent
  • A High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as agricultural farm tractors and implements (loader, disk, rotary cutter, planter, spreader, auger, bush hog, shredder, etc.), bulldozer, skid steer with attachments, forklift, transport and dump type trucks, all-terrain vehicles, trenchers, backhoes, graders, excavators, forestry mulcher, and loaders
  • Experience with performing operational, routine, and operator maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment, light equipment, and hand-held power and manual tools
  • Ability to read and navigate using maps, GIS applications, aerial photographs, compasses, and GPS units
  • Physically able to work outdoors and perform strenuous labor under all weather conditions (e.g., heat and humidity); able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Be able to follow directions, work collectively with others as a team, and maintain safe working standards
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position
