The general function and purpose of the job is: (1) to investigate radiation facilities for the purpose of determining compliance with Michigan’s Ionizing Radiation Rules and Part 135 of the Public Health Code and (2) gain the necessary experience and expertise to allow subsequent certification as a mammography inspector pursuant to the federal Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) program.  The job also involves consulting with and advising persons about radiation protection matters.

Work Location (Site): The work site will be located at the Stevens T. Mason Building, 530. W. Allegan St., Lansing MI or a home-based office located in one of the following Michigan counties: Barry, Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Ionia, Ingham, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Livingston, Ottawa, Muskegon, Saginaw, Shiawassee, or Washtenaw. 

While position is remote, this is a field position that requires daily/frequent travel within the position’s primary coverage area. All work must be performed in the Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position.
