Faculty, Cybersecurity

Miami Dade College is now accepting applications for Faculty, Cybersecurity (Bachelor's Program). 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaches lecture and laboratory sections

Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising

Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives

Develops and teaches online courses

Teaches Dual Enrollment classes

Recruits, advises, and evaluates students

Prepares and writes grants for the School of Engineering and Technology

Teaches information systems technology courses college wide

Participates in a variety of departmental, campus and college-wide programs, activities, and committees

Serves as a resource person for adjunct faculty

Teaches day, evening and weekend classes as needed

Minimum Requirements:

Doctorate or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (e.g., Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity); or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Computer Science or related field (e.g., Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity).

All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution

Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction

Ability to function well in a technological environment and willing to use technological tools in instruction

Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills

Possess excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community

Demonstrated effective use of active learning techniques

Previous curriculum development and recruitment experience a plus

Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment

Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments

Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated to be the beginning of Fall 2024 semester

Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
