Position Title:  6th Grade Math & Science Teacher

 
Location:  Mason Middle School / Mason Public Schools / In-Person

Reports to: Middle School Principal

Required Qualifications: 

• Meets Highly Qualified Status
• Current  Elementary Michigan Teaching Certificate, K-5 All Subjects, 6-8 Self Contained Classroom
• Commitment to participate in extensive in-service

Desired Qualifications: 

• DX or DI and EX Certification Endorsements
• Experience working with middle school age students
• Possesses ability to work in a self-contained, team-teaching, or interdisciplinary environment
• Uses innovative teaching techniques to actively engage all students in the learning process
• Demonstrates the ability to connect curricular content with real world applications
• Works effectively with at-risk and special needs students
• Demonstrates effective classroom management
• Possesses a caring, creative, energetic personality
• Incorporates technology into daily instruction

Job Description:  

• 6th Grade Math/Science Teacher working as part of a rotation of teachers or in a departmentalized 6th grade for the 2024-2025 school year

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:  

• This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
• The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
• Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with some travel to other schools or field trip locations.

Schedule:        Position begins 2024-2025 School Year, 185 days per year                

Compensation:    $41,017 - $85,433 commensurate with experience
