Class II Food Service Prep and Cashier

Position Title: Class II Food Service / Prep and Cashier

Building: Middle School / High School / In-Person

Reports to: Food Service Director

Preferred Qualifications:           

  • Must have three years of experience in quantity food production
  • Ability to relate well to Elementary students and adults
  • Must have an excellent attendance work record
  • Must be able to perform routine lifting of 40+ lbs and bending

 
Job Description:        

  • Shall assist daily prep of Elementary food items
  • Shall maintain food production standards established by the Mason Public Schools Food Service Department and comply with the State of Michigan Health Code
  • Responsible for daily service cashier for Lunch
  • Shall assist in all other kitchen areas when work is completed
  • Shall be responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of work area
  • Shall perform other duties assigned by the Food Service Director or designee

 
Physical Requirements: 

  • This position requires long periods of standing
  • This position requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push materials
  • The position may include possible travel to other schools

 

 
Work Year: School year scheduled, August to June

Schedule: M-F 6:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
 
Wage: Class II rate, $14.19 per hour

Benefits: Paid sick and personal days, holidays, retirement, and life insurance per the bargaining unit contract
