The Fundraising Sales Internship is an opportunity whereby selected individuals are responsible for educating prospective sales leads (such as youth sports organizations, non-profits, religious groups, sororities, fraternities, etc.) on the fundraising options with TEAM BUTTER ® and working to achieve fundraiser success by following all standard operating procedures.

Sales Internship Summary:

Fundraising Sales Interns are responsible for upholding the Company's brand image and providing exceptional support to Fundraising Partners.   They are responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities within the assigned target market(s). 

The main tasks in this position include making outbound sales calls, corresponding with prospective and current clients through multiple communication channels, achieving or surpassing pre-established sales targets, and contributing to the Company's profitability.  

This role requires high ownership, an understanding of market trend analysis, business acumen, and interpersonal skills.  Effective communication with clients and internal team members is crucial for success in this position in addition to operating with integrity and respect.

General Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrating a proven track record of meeting established sales quotas and business goals,
  • Executing superior customer service and communication techniques,
  • Building and maintaining relationships across a wide spectrum of internal and external stakeholders, 
  • Generating new leads by networking, attending trade shows/marketing events, cold calling, researching various sports directories, etc.
  • Regularly following up with prospective business partners (“leads”) to maximize business opportunities,
  • Generating sales using the TEAM BUTTER ® fundraising app, website, or other means following Company guidelines,
  • Understanding the unique challenges of our customers and providing resources to maximize fundraising program success,
  • Assisting with fundraising app/website troubleshooting and answering frequently asked questions,
  • Presenting fundraising program details in a digestible and enthusiastic manner; helping to create a warm picture of the benefits of the business partnership,
  • Closing sales and achieve/exceed monthly targets,
  • Serving as a TEAM BUTTER® fundraising expert by educating decision-makers and establishing rapport with fundraising participants in your assigned territory,
  • Representing the TEAM BUTTER® brand by embodying the company's values daily, including excellent customer service, self-accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration,
  • Approaching market demands with a positive, can-do mindset, and
  • Completing all assigned tasks and projects as directed by the leadership team.

  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Coachable and open to asking questions, adopting feedback, and improving sales techniques.
  • Strong influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to creatively resolve problems.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to new software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred educational background in sports marketing, marketing, communications, business administration, or a related mix of major/minor studies.
  • No experience required.
