Unclaimed Property Supervisor

Michigan Unclaimed Property is the custodian of unclaimed (abandoned) property for the State of Michigan and works to reunite that property with its rightful owner or the owners’ heirs, upon proof of ownership.

This position serves as the first-line supervisor of staff processing claims for property owners, assists claimants when difficult situations call for escalation, as well as provides guidance and determinations to all staff when questions regarding rightful ownership arise.  This position also works closely with the unclaimed property auditor to identify and protect against fraudulent transactions.

The perfect candidate will have positive experience with multi-tasking, setting priorities, training staff and delegating duties. Familiarity with Michigan’s Uniform Unclaimed Property Act is a plus. This position also requires excellent organizational and analytical skills, as these are essential to contributing to the success of our team.

Education
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

Experience
Four years of office experience involving administrative support office practices, including two years equivalent to an E7-level administrative support worker.
