Annual Salary:  $44,346

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION): 

  • Associate degree in public administration, business administration, Psychology, Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services (including a clinical practicum of at least one year), or a related field from an accredited college or university; AND
  • One (1) year of experience with a DHS (or comparable department)

JOB DUTIES (SUMMARY):

REGULAR AND PUNCTUAL ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reporting: Determines the best data source to meet the data reporting needs of the organization, workforce investment board, City Council, Board of County Commissioners, State of Ohio, and other stakeholders. Prepares executive summaries and organizes reports to support decision making. Reporting includes standard reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) and ad hoc reporting.

Performs data analysis, including but not limited to: 

• interprets  data needs and transforms that data into useful information critical to organization’s planning/decision making; 

• collects data; 

• cleans data by removing errors, inconsistencies, duplicates or communicating data entry errors to appropriate staff for correction; 

• determines best data source and summarizes data - filter, sort, list, group, subtotal, graph/chart creation, statistical analysis such as averages; creates reports; 

determines most coherent and useful presentation of data; 

  • Conducts in house quality reviews of assigned cases; gathers data from a number of sources and evaluates accuracy of work products. Participates in continuous improvement efforts and ensures case reviews are focused on areas impacting State Performance Measures. Writes summaries and required reports and discusses findings with staff and managers.
  • Completes compliance and billing for all OMJ programs (i.e., reviews and submits OJT/ITA/WIB Invoices to Accounts Payable; creates vouchers; maintains voucher/invoice records; works with employers as needed to ensure proper/timely submittal of OJT invoices)
  • Audits and Monitoring: Ensures OhioMeansJobs files and records are prepared for audit and certification. Maintains documentation and data related to all aspects of the OhioMeansJobs Center – including, but not limited to: case records, vouchers and payments, meeting minutes and attendance records.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to: attending trainings, conferences, meetings, updating and publishing building calendars, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (*Indicates can be developed after employment)

Knowledge of:  agency policies and procedures; human services structure and process*; interviewing.

Skill in:  PC or mainframe data entry and work processing equipment.

Ability to: Deal with many variables and determine specific actions; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages; understand manuals and verbal instructions;  gather collate & classify information about data, people or things; maintain accurate records; prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports; work alone on most tasks.

BACKGROUND CHECKS REQUIRED:

Background checks consistent with requirements in OAC 5101:2-5-09 must be completed at employment and every ten years following, including but not limited to the following systems:  

  • State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
  • State Child/Abuse Neglect Central Registry Check for any state in which the applicant resided within the last five years
  • Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification Investigation (BCI)
  • FBI
  • National Sex Offender Public website (WWW.NSOPW.Gov) Code 5101:2-5-09 must be conducted for each prospective employee
