Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing- Itinerant

Job Description 

Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) #12 is seeking an energetic individual for the position of Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing.  The agency is seeking an educational leader who is ready to serve a diverse, rural northern Wisconsin learning community. The candidate of choice will have demonstrated skill in providing a full range of instructional and learning supports to students with hearing loss that help to maximize student achievement, college and career readiness and social emotional development, as well as strong communication skills with students, staff, parents, and community. 

CESA #12 provides cooperative services to 17 school districts across the northwestern corner of Wisconsin, impacting approximately 14,000 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.  The CESA #12 office is located in Ashland, WI, on the shores of the Chequamegon Bay of Lake Superior.  The area provides a wealth of opportunities for outdoor recreational activities in a beautiful setting. 

Qualifications 

A successful candidate should demonstrate skill at focusing on D/HH student needs not being met in the regular education environment, knowledge of special education program requirements (Federal, State and Local) and age appropriate evidence-based instructional methods, and the ability to collaborate and lead a variety of collaborative educational partners.

Requirements 

Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold Wisconsin Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing licensure (805) or be near the completion of a certification program that leads to licensure. Consideration will be given to any applicants seeking certification in this area. A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience is preferred.  Ability to travel to districts throughout the CESA 12 region is a must.
