Graduate Student Assistant

Physiology & Biophysics, School of Medicine

Position Number: (TBD) 

 

Nature of Work

This position is a graduate student assistant to assist with behavioral training of animals in studies of visual function in the Denman Lab at the University of Colorado Anschutz. The student assistant will use existing pipeline to train animals on behavioral tasks as well as apply analytical methods to experimental data. The employee will work closely with the existing research team to design and execute all aspects of the work.

Examples of Work Performed

  1. Behavioral training of mice, including handling and daily care 
  2. Application of analytical methods to experimental data support simulations
  3. Code maintenance and documentation 
  4. Support of other animal experiments when related to project. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Laboratory experience with good track record of record keeping

- Willingness to collaborate with a team to complete tasks

 

Minimum Requirements

- BA/BS in biology, bioengineering, neuroscience, or related (can be in progress)

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Python or similar programming language
