Public Relations Intern (Unpaid)

About Us

Black Real Estate Dialogue is the premier platform highlighting the stories of Black Real Estate Investors, Developers, and Professionals. We’ve grown our Instagram following to over 90,000 through a mix of episode clips, real estate news, and more. Our current goal is to grow our TikTok and Facebook.  We also aim to reach 100,000 followers on Instagram and 50,000 on YouTube. We interview some of the best real estate investors in the country. We intend to continue this, and we also aim to increase the visibility of the brand. 

The Internship is for 3 months (this is flexible based on your schedule)

This internship is ideal for a student who can receive credit for an internship. Our most recent intern received credit for the internship!

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will learn the fundamentals of public relations and assist in the execution of strategic PR campaigns to enhance Black Real Estate Dialogue’'s brand visibility.
  • Assist the team in drafting press releases, media pitches, and other written materials tailored to various media outlets.
  • Assist in maintaining media lists and databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date contact information.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile press clippings and reports to track Black Real Estate Dialogue’'s media presence.
  • Contribute to social media efforts by creating engaging content, monitoring platforms, and interacting with followers.
  • Assist in the coordination of press events, interviews, and media briefings, gaining exposure to event planning and logistics.
  • Take initiative to learn and grow in the role, seeking feedback and proactively seeking opportunities to contribute.
     

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Enthusiasm for public relations and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to refine and develop your writing abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with a positive attitude and eagerness to contribute.
  • Basic understanding of media relations principles and social media platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace. Good to have but not required
  • Previous internship or relevant experience in public relations or communications is a plus but not required.
