EHS Intern

Environmental Health & Safety Internship Summary:

Overview 

  • The EHS Intern will assist and support our EHS Team with essential projects while gaining invaluable experience for their future career. Key projects and tasks include but are not limited to:
    • Support of EHS Owners’ Partnership Services, projects and tasks
    • Provide support for the development of Lockout Procedures
    • Visitor Center program development and management
    • Annual Audiogram scheduling
    • CPR/First Aid/AED Training scheduling

 Accountabilities

A successful intern achieves their project milestones and supports the EHS department’s quarterly Rock and Service goals to reduce PADNOS risks

Outcomes 

  • Weekly:
    • Project milestones execution
    • Support Lockout Procedures development process weekly
  • Monthly:
    • Report on & update personal goal page status; 1x/mth
    • Support Lockout Process training sessions; perform 2 sessions before end of internship
    • Perform Partnership Services (Audits, Coach, Rounds, Training, Investigations, Safety Alerts); 1/month with EHS owner
    • Grandville office emergency equipment inspections; 1x/mth
  • Quarterly:
    • Plan Rocks
    • Create Personal Goal Page
    • Calendar block (Rocks, Services, Sand, Projects)
    • Perform PADNOS Lockout Process training
  • Annually:
    • Audiogram scheduling
    • CPR/First Aid/AED Training scheduling

 

Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid driver’s license and means of reliable transportation
  • Willing to work outdoors in heavy industrial environment
  • Proficient with technology and systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, ppt)
