Marketing Intern

We are looking for an intern in our Marketing Department to help us plan our events for both clients and employees. We are looking for someone currently pursuing a degree in business or Marketing who can work at least 29 hours per week throughout the summer.  This intern will have the ability to work with and learn about the all the various functions within Marketing in addition to their responsibilities with event planning.

This internship is located at our corporate office in Grand Rapids, MI. Our headquarters is located at 5555 Glenwood Hills Pkwy SE in Grand Rapids, MI. 

Intern Responsibilities/Objectives

Assist Corporate Marketing Coordinator with sponsorship and event planning activities including but not limited to:

  • Researching vendors/suppliers and collect multiple quotes.
  • Booking vendors (catering, rentals, décor, food & beverage)
  • Coordinating/Managing vendor deliverables.
  • Submitting invoices to ensure payment.
  • Tracking expenses to stay within budget.
  • Researching/Procuring promotional items or decorations for event
  • Creating event timelines.
  • Participating or leading team meeting to update status.
  • Coordinating social media posts around event.
  • Assisting with day of tasks, such as: place signage, décor, communication with vendors, ensure timeline is on schedule.

Intern Requirements

  • Outgoing, personable, able to build relationships with others.
  • Multi-tasker, self-starter, able to handle concurrent projects of varying degrees of difficulty.
  • Highly motivated, positive attitude and goal orientated.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office, Word, and PowerPoint.
