Operations Assistant, Logistics

Summary:

Chem-Trend is looking for two Operations Assistants to support our Material Handling department throughout the summer.

You’ll join our dedicated team that is committed to producing high quality products in a safe work environment. You don’t need experience to join us, just a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Prepare pumping equipment, containers, and samples of both hazardous and non-hazardous products while following all safety precautions and procedures.

* Operate hi-lo to facilitate the movement of materials.

* Packaging of materials.

* Document pertinent information for the contents of each waste tote and/or drum; ensure each container is sampled, stored, and labeled correctly noting distinction between waste types.

* Load and unload trucks with finished or raw materials; sample and warehouse material.

* Ensure the proper labeling of shipments.

* Processing (Chemlease) shipments.

* Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

* Keep all areas clean, safe, and free of debris and tripping hazards.

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

* Good communication, organizational, teamwork, and time management skills
