Reports To: Director of Technology

Schedule: May 13, 2024 - September 27, 2024 (20 weeks) / 40 hours per week

Wage: $14/hour

 

Job Summary: Perform work in the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and monitoring of district devices, computer equipment, networks and peripherals to enhance established curriculum and prevent service interruption of equipment. Handle a broad range of equipment; diagnoses, troubleshoots, and responds to hardware and application problems. Assists with support of district personnel in operation of technology systems.

 

Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma required
  • Knowledge of computers (hardware and software), operating systems, and data networking principles
  • Knowledge of common principles, concepts, and skills required to perform basic technology troubleshooting and workstation configuration
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions, including technical documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respond under pressure to immediate situations while maintaining courteous and professional relationships with staff
  • Preference will be given to candidates enrolled or recently graduated from a college or university IT degree program

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Provide general troubleshooting of applications and hardware including computers, printers, projectors, document cameras, and other classroom technologies
  • Operate, install, troubleshoot, configure, test and perform minor repairs to computer hardware (PCs, printers, and other peripherals) and applications as requested
  • Solve basic computer operational problems for hardware and software using diagnostic tools and communication with district technology personnel
  • Perform upgrades on computer equipment and applications as directed
  • Follow standard help desk operating procedures; accurately log, track, and report issues; maintains accurate inventories of technology related equipment at assigned site(s)
  • Understand and comply with district technology policies, procedures, and standard practices
  • Meet with other district technology personnel on a regular basis to maintain positive interaction and open communications as a member of the technology team
  • Perform additional functions incidental to computer support activities
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust/focus. Work Environment: 

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors.

 

Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
