Contract Specialist

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking applicants for a business specialist to work in the Contracts department. We are willing to train a skillful candidate that meets the required qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining contract files including status reports, payment schedules and terms, budget and accounting information, correspondences, document upload, and accuracy reviews
  • Drafting, reviewing, editing, and executing contracts, administrative agreements, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other contract-related documents within pre-determined signature authority
  • Performing pre-negotiation fact-finding research to support negotiations, as delegated 
  • Conducting negotiations for small contracts and document negotiation results
  • Reviewing proposal solicitations and preparing contract-related proposal documents, ensuring company criteria are complete and that specific funding agency requirements have been satisfied
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and other files for distribution and/or discussion

Required Qualifications: 

  • B.S. degree, preferably in a business-related field
  • Two to five years of experience in general business functions, such as accounting, budgeting, purchasing, or contracts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent intrapersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to deal with multiple and conflicting deadlines 
  • Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work flexibly with a wide variety of programs and agencies
  • Have a proactive nature and high attention to detail
  • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
