Center for Undergraduate Scholar Engagement (CUSE) Writing Internship 

Looking for a way to get paid for building your portfolio and professional skills for the future, while fulfilling your internship requirements? You might be the perfect fit for this position. In this on-campus, paid communications position you will enjoy hours that can be flexible around your course schedule. You will be the lead content manager for our web site, and create content for digital communications, publications, direct mail pieces, and more. You’ll work closely with experienced professional staff who will mentor you on project leadership, writing assignments, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced collaborative team environment. To be considered for this position you should be a current undergraduate student with the following qualifications: 

• Proven ability to write and edit promotional or journalistic copy for a variety of media including electronic. Samples of work will be requested of top candidates. 

• Excellent communication and organizational skills. 

• Completion of initial classes in Professional Writing, English, Advertising, Public Relations, or related major. 

• Ability to work 10-15 hours per week, during the summer with the opportunity to continue the internship during the academic year. 

• Preference will be given to those who have graphic design and multimedia skills and who are able to work multiple semesters. 

The GVSU Center for Undergraduate Scholar Engagement supports two offices, the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (OURS) and the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships. The CUSE communication programs inform students, alumni, faculty, and friends of the university about its programs and projects. The Center is located on the GVSU Allendale campus.
