Camp Counselor – Aquatics Staff

Seacamp is currently hiring Aquatic Instructors! Seacamp is located in Big Pine Key, Florida, in the beautiful Florida Keys. We are currently looking to fill positions for our Summer 2024 season. Seacamp can work with applicants to use this position as an internship for college credits through their university.

Seacamp is a non-profit organization offering a unique marine science/SCUBA residential camp for teenagers 10-17 and a marine science day camp for youth 10-13.  Established in 1966, it is located near the most extensive coral reef in the continental United States in the middle of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.  Seacamp offers courses in marine science, SCUBA diving, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and arts and crafts. Aquatics instructors live with and supervise a cabin of 5-7 teens aged 10-17 during their stay at camp and supervise campers during free-time.  Staff will teach and assist with windsurfing and sailing classes. Staff may also assist with science classes, SCUBA classes, and have the opportunity to teach creative expression classes during the day.  In the evening staff will participate in programs with campers and be responsible for the supervision of campers.

Cabin Counselors must be at least 19 years old; have completed one year of college; have a strong desire to work with children at a residential facility in a tropical marine environment; be able to adhere to camp policies; be positive role models, and be comfortable in the water with strong aquatic skills.  SCUBA certification is preferred, but not required.

Benefits:  Weekly salary of 150/week, housing, meals, extensive physical and academic training, American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and Oxygen Administration certifications, camp leadership programs, workers’ compensation insurance, and use of recreational equipment during time off.
