Cooley Law School seeks an Assistant Vice President of Information Technology.  This position is located at Cooley’s Lansing, Michigan campus.

 

The Assistant Vice President of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for overall operation of IT.  Conduct ongoing assessments, planning, and oversight of proper management of academic and administrative technology and daily service delivery.  Lead in strategic planning; policies, standards, and guidelines.  Oversee IT security and information security functions such as risk analysis, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning; enforce information security policies and procedures;  liaise with senior management regarding strategic information security decisions and vendor selection; serve as Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act information security officer; and prepare annual security report.  Manage vendor relationships, technical project portfolio, resource allocation, and capacity planning.  Develop and manage IT budget.  Direct staff development and organizational training.  Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate technology needs and suggest appropriate solutions.  Effective, regular communication with internal and external constituents.

 

Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills:  knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, a master’s degree is preferred; or four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; a minimum of five years of supervisory experience, leading technical teams preferred; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Certified Network Engineer, COMP TIA A+, and Network+, preferred; excellent group and individual management skills; ability to manage complex projects concurrently and delegate as needed; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong technical knowledge and ability to assess opportunities with emerging technologies; and ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
