Research and Innovation Student Externship

Research and Innovation - Supports the research coordinators and related administrative tasks, Complete IATA and GCP Training, Responsible for processing and shipping biological samples adhering to IATA regulations (Pick up dry-ice as needed), Assist Coordinators with research subject visits, Complete check-in procedures including collection of vitals and complete medical history, Data entry, Recruit and telephone screen subjects, Patient visits and regulatory filing, Schedule follow-up study visits, Assist in study start-up and regulatory documentation.

 

DEFINITION OF POSITION

The Summer Externship Opportunities for College Students program is designed to provide students with practical work experience and exposure to real-world professional environments during the summer months. Students will have the opportunity to work with professionals in their field of study and gain valuable skills and knowledge that will enhance their academic and career pursuits. This role will report directly to the Director of Research and Innovation while supporting the research coordinators and assisting with related administrative tasks. Specific duties may include but are not limited to various departmental training, processing/shipping biological samples, assisting with research subject visits, date entry, regulatory filing, and assisting with study start-up and regulatory documentation.  QUALIFICATIONS

Professional

Must be 18 years old and currently enrolled as a college student pursuing a degree in a relevant field or a high school graduate/program graduate with a career interest in healthcare or relevant field. 

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.

Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant software or tools.

Availability to work during the specified summer timeframe of 8-12 weeks with a minimum of 12 hours a week but can choose to work up to 36 hours a week if approved by the department.
