Research Associate Gene Therapy

Overview

This position is based in San Diego, CA. Depending on experience, the scientist will expand molecular and product specific assay development working with the Gene Therapy Research and Development team. General cellular and molecular biology proficiency (including experience with PCR and Western Blot) is required. Skills such as, histology, cloning, general mammalian cell culture, transfection and familiarity with in vivo rodent models will be considered advantageous. • This is a non-supervisory position.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: Representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

• Molecular biology (cloning, restriction digests) under the supervision of a senior scientist
• Protein science, including western blot
• Cell culture, sterile technique, and transfection

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related field. Graduate degree holders are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to interact professionally with colleagues and present research results in written reports and team presentations.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and train other laboratory staff in technical matters.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, with strong willingness to take on new challenges required to bring novel medicines to the clinic.
• Strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety guidelines.

 

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.

The base salary range for this job is from $66,000.00 to $87,333.00 per year
